Partner Cammarta Shares Insight on Bill Cosby Prison Sentence

On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, Bill Cosby was sentenced in his criminal case in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania to 3 to 10 years in prison. The sentence, one of the first celebrity criminal sentences in the #MeToo era, followed Cosby’s conviction in April in which he was found Guilty of three counts of assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Partner Cammarata, who is currently representing seven victims in a pending civil lawsuit against Cosby, shared his insight on the sentencing with multiple media outlets, including The Washington Post and Fox News

Camille Cosby Testifies at First Part of Defamation Deposition

Camille Cosby, wife of Bill Cosby, was deposed under oath in a defamation suit filed by seven women who allege they were sexually assaulted by the comedian. Partner Joseph Cammarata and CSCS are currently representing the women and therefore had the opportunity to question Mrs. Cosby on February 22, 2016.

Following Bill Cosby Criminal Charges, CSCS Defeats Camille Cosby’s Motion to Stop Deposition in Defamation Case

Criminal charges against Bill Cosby have made international news as of late, with Mr. Cosby facing serious penalties in Pennsylvania in a case stemming back over 10 years. Shortly after the news broke, CSCS and Partner Joseph Cammarata were successful in defeating a motion filed by Camille Cosby to stop her deposition in our pending defamation case against her husband. The win is big for our clients, and brings us one step closer to justice.

Partner Cammarata Comments on Cosby Suit Against Accusers

On Monday, December 14th, Bill Cosby filed a lawsuit against the seven accusers being represented by our firm in a defamation suit for causing him “emotional distresses.” Partner Joe Cammarata was quoted in an MSNBC article on the filing, stating that it could possibly be interpreted at retaliation. Third Amended Complaint Filed Against Bill Cosby

On Friday, Nov. 13, Partner Joseph Cammarata and Associate Attorney Matthew Tievsky filed the third amended defamation complaint against Bill Cosby, adding four new plaintiffs to the lawsuit. In addition to adding four new women to this lawsuit, the amended complaint also introduces new claims against Cosby. In October, Bill Cosby had attempted to have this lawsuit thrown out, but Attorneys Cammarata and Tievsky were successful in defeating the motion to dismiss.

Partner Cammarata Comments on Cosby Admission

Partner Joseph Cammarata recently appeared on multiple news sources to comment on recent revelations involving Bill Cosby. On Monday, July 7th, new court documents were released in which Mr. Cosby admitted to getting prescription Quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with. Partner Cammarata and CSCS are currently representing three women in a pending defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby.

Partner Joseph Cammarata Files Defamation Suit Against Bill Cosby

CSCS Partner Joseph Cammarata is currently representing Tamara Green, a retired California attorney who alleges she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby in the 1970s. On December 10, 2014, Partner Cammarata filed a defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby on behalf of Ms. Green, which claims that Mr. Cosby – through his publicist and attorney – in effect publically branded Ms. Green a liar and tarnished her good name and reputation.

Ms. Green first went public with her allegations in 2005. As more victims step forward, Ms. Green and Partner Cammarata continue to share her story.
