I walked into this building, this house at 1232 17th Street over 30 years ago, and we are still here today, and we are still fighting for people. I felt that when I walked into this building and I said, this is what I want to do. This is where I want to be. So I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. My father was a lawyer, so I’ve always been around him, and I’ve always watched him and I’ve always was able to see what he was doing and aspire to do that. This year was a very special year for me. I won the DC Trial Lawyer of the Year award, but it was really special in a number of ways. Number one, my whole family was there to celebrate with me. I received it actually at Nat Stadium, which I’m a big Nationals fan, and it was very special to receive it there. People come to us in their worst situations, really, really tragic situations, and they’re looking to us to help them.
