Trial attorney Stephen Ollar is committed to providing clients with the best representation possible. He is dedicated to obtaining just compensation for those who have been wronged by the negligent or reckless actions of others. Stephen’s practice areas include auto accidents, medical malpractice, and general tort claims.
Before joining Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata, Siegel, P.C., Stephen clerked for Chief Judge Eric T. Washington of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. This clerkship sharpened Stephen’s research and writing abilities, educated him in all aspects of appellate review, and increased his knowledge of civil and criminal procedures. In addition to this clerkship, Stephen has interned with the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia, the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, the Department of Justice’s Commercial Litigation Branch, and an independent criminal defense attorney. He has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, with a particular focus in personal injury and criminal defense.
Stephen received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2016, where he graduated magna cum laude. His education focused extensively on trial advocacy. He joined the school’s Criminal Justice Clinic and represented juvenile and adult criminal defendants in both Montgomery County District and Circuit Courts. Stephen participated in his school Mock Trial Honor Society, winning the 2015 Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition. He was also a senior staff writer for the American University Law Review.
Prior to law school, Stephen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2004, from the University of Texas at Austin. Stephen also served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army for six years. As an airborne infantryman, he deployed twice to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 4/25th IBCT, 3/509th Infantry Regiment (Airborne). Stephen is born and raised in Texas, but has made the DMV his new home.
