My original background was in cell and molecular biology. I thought I was gonna be a biologist, which I was good at, but I didn’t wanna work in a lab for the rest of my life, so I ended up joining the Army. I spent six years in the Army, and then when I got back, I went back to school, got a degree, and then I went to law school here in D.C.

In the Military, attention to detail is very important, right? Everything you do, you wanna make sure that you’re fully ready for the mission, so you’ve got to do your pre-combat checks and inspections, and it’s not just for yourself, it’s also for your men. So now in my practice as an attorney, I would say attention to detail is just as important. You wanna make sure when reviewing medical records, you’re seeing all the issues, issue spotting is what we would call it, to making sure that you’re aware of what’s going on so that you can prepare your client for cross-examination from the defense.

A great Saturday for me would be to sleep in, but having two kids and three cats, that’s not something we get to do. So an ideal Saturday for us, we usually have some sort of activity for the girls, play dates, but we also like to take them to the neighborhood pool, and then we will go out to get dinner together.

I moved to D.C. in 2013, where I started at the American University Washington College of Law. My specialty was trial advocacy, so I did a mock trial there, and I won a National Competition in Mock Trial. After I got out, I went and clerked for Chief Judge Washington here at the D.C. Court of Appeals. I got into the firm, and I found out I had a real knack for personal injury.

It’s absolutely true, the most important thing about this firm is that we care. Anybody who comes to our office will be able to look on our walls and see that we care about our clients, folks whose lives we’ve done everything we can to put back together.
