Celebrating Milestones: 50, 40, and 30 Years of Excellence at CSCS
Law360 Pulse profiled Chaikin Sherman Cammarata & Siegel PC as part of their 2024 retrospective on small law firms. For CSCS, 2024 was defined by significant practice milestones: managing partner Ira Sherman celebrated 50 years as a lawyer, Joseph Cammarata his 40th year, and Allan Siegel his 30th year—a remarkable convergence of generational expertise that has defined the firm for over five decades. “I think it’s really interesting that our decades of practice in law coincide,” Siegel said. “All are obviously significant milestones, and it just demonstrates how, especially in small law firms, there’s a huge benefit to having a generational gap between the partners.”
Beyond anniversaries, 2024 brought major case wins and firm expansion. Siegel was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan D.C. Cammarata secured a major settlement with a tractor-trailer company where owners personally contributed beyond insurance limits, while Siegel won a difficult road-maintenance case on behalf of a cyclist injured by a city-neglected roadway defect. The firm also promoted associate Stephen Ollar to partner—continuing the firm’s philosophy of generational succession that has sustained the practice for more than 50 years.
