by | Apr 9, 2015

CSCS Partner Joseph Cammarata has been appointed the Ad Hoc Police Practices Review Commission for Fairfax County, Virginia. His appointment – confirmed by the Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova – highlights the trust and recognition he’s earned throughout the local community, and speaks volumes about his legal expertise and community leadership. Partner Cammarata also currently serves on the Fairfax Water Board of Directors.

Created earlier this year, the Police Practices Review Commission is intended to build public trust and transparency through the evaluation of police protocol and police-involved incidents. Partner Cammarata and other members of the commission will be reviewing various issues, including:

The commission will be thoroughly evaluating these matters during regularly scheduled meetings and will deliver their recommendations for changes to the Board of Supervisors by October 1 st of this year.

CSCS has long advocated for victims of police violence and, given the current state of police / civilian interactions across the country, we believe Partner Cammarata’s role on the commission will be of great benefit to the local community.
