Partner Joseph Cammarata Holds Press Conference in DC for Defamation Lawsuit Filed Against Bill Cosby

by | Dec 10, 2014

Today – Wednesday, December 10th at 3:00 p.m. – CSCS Partner Joseph Cammarata will be discussing a new defamation lawsuit filed against Bill Cosby in Washington, DC. The lawsuit is being filed by Partner Cammarata’s client Tamara Green, who alleges she was sexually assaulted by comedian Bill Cosby in the 1970s. The defamation suit will present a first-of-its-kind opportunity for Ms. Green, and potentially other alleged victims of Cosby, to litigate their claims.

In 2005, when news of Bill Cosby’s sexual assaults began to garner media attention, Tamara Green went public with her personal story in the Philadelphia Daily News and an appearance on the Today Show. In light of recent events – including more victims stepping forward to accuse Cosby of sexual assault – Ms. Green has again been mentioned in the media, including a Washington Post featured article.

The lawsuit claims that since going public about the allegations in 2005, Bill Cosby, through his publicist and attorney, defamed Green, by in effect publically branding her a liar. The defamation lawsuit was filed this morning. Mr. Cosby through his attorney has attacked the credibility of other women who have come forward to claim they have been assaulted by Mr. Cosby.

Partner Joseph Cammarata – who represented Paula Jones in her sexual harassment suit against President Bill Clinton in the 1990s – is currently representing Green in her lawsuit against Cosby. Green will participate in the press conference via video.

Both Ms. Green and Partner Cammarata will be discussing the case during the press conference, which will be held at:

Capitol Reporting Company
1821 Jefferson Place, NW, 3rd Floor
Wednesday, December 10th at 3:00 p.m.
