The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA), the nation’s leading organization serving people affected by brain injury, features Senior Partner Ira Sherman in the latest edition of THE Challenge! magazine. It highlights our firm’s recent $25,000 gift to the Brain Injury Research Fund, which supports researchers seeking cures for chronic brain injury.

“BIAA supports individuals along the entire spectrum of brain injury,” Sherman said. “No one with a brain injury will feel diminished because the impacts on them are significant but may not be demonstrable to others. All with brain injury are served the same way with resources, advocacy, and now, research.”

Sherman has served on the BIAA Board of Directors since 2012 and helped establish the research fund. Additionally, he and Partner Joseph Cammarata founded the Brain Injury Association of Washington, D.C. Monetary contributions can significantly benefit the quality of life for individuals with brain injury and their families, Sherman said. He hopes the firm’s gift will inspire others to donate toward brain injury research.

“For more than 25 years, our firm has focused on advocating for those affected by developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries,” he said. “Our legal team fights aggressively – and will continue to fight – on behalf of victims and families and invest our time toward making a positive impact on the brain injury community.”
