Who's Responsible?
There are many laws related to swimming pools and other public swim facilities. If a swimming pool is not carefully protected, a child or some other innocent person may drown or suffer permanent injury. In many cities and counties in and around our area, the law requires that owners install a locked fence around a pool to prevent injuries and drownings. So, if a pool owner has failed to install a fence, he/she may be legally responsible for your injury or loss.
Pool owners are also often responsible if the drowning or injury was the result of negligent property conditions. Slip-proof surfaces should be installed around a pool to prevent slip and fall injuries, and safety equipment should be available.
