  • CSCS Announces 2016 Ethiopian Heritage College Scholarship Winner

Posted By Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C. || 12-Aug-2016

Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C. is pleased to announce the winner of our 2016-2017 Ethiopian Heritage College Scholarship Award – Biruk Negash!

Biruk’s essay on how she plans to make the world a better place was selected by our team as the winning submission, and we are thrilled to help support her education as she begins school this fall as a freshman at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville.

Biruk was born in Ethiopia and moved to the United States as a small child. She grew up in Annandale, Virginia where she attended high school. As a student, she was a very active participant in extracurricular activities and community service programs.

Biruk hopes to pursue a career in law as a juvenile criminal defense attorney. She believes children “need a second chance and they need to be given not only a voice, but also the instruments to become successful in their future chosen career paths.”

CSCS recently held our EHCSF Awards Ceremony, where we presented Biruk with her scholarship. We look forward to watching her success at UVA and beyond!
