  • DC Bar Altercation Leads to Death of Patron

Approximately three weeks ago, a patron at the Rendezvous Lounge in Washington, D.C. was critically injured when he attempted to subdue another patron who had assaulted a bartender and swung a stool at others in the lounge. The patron recently died from his injuries.

Too often violent incidents occur at bars and clubs as a result of patrons being allowed to drink to excess, overcrowding, inadequate security, or brutality by security personnel. A bar or club owner or operator has a legal obligation to its customers to protect them from the likely harm which can result from these conditions existing at the bar or club. If an owner or operator chooses not to protect their customers and they are harmed as a result, then the owner or operator is responsible for the harm.

Our Washington, DC personal injury lawyers at Chaikin Sherman Cammarata & Siegel, P.C. have handled numerous cases involving injuries to customers of bars and clubs. Whether the harm results from a drunk patron at a club, an unruly crowd, inadequate security, or brutality from a security guard, we are available to discuss with you the circumstances surrounding your injury and to analyze whether the bar or club may be responsible to compensate you for your injuries and damages.
