The outskirts of Hurricane Sandy ripped through the Washington, D.C. area around Monday, October 29, 2012.  Fortunately, it does not appear that the storm caused any deaths in the D.C. area, but there was extensive property damage, with thousands of people suffering power outages.  We are thankful that the human toll was not greater.  However, if you or your loves ones suffered injury, or property damages (we've seen many trees fallen on cars), make sure to alert your insurance company.  Don't let your insurance policy go to waste!
