On Tuesday July 24th, 2012, a CSX freight train struck an SUV in Prince George's County in Maryland. The impact caused the SUV to roll onto its side and come to rest 50 yards north of the train crossing. A woman in her 30s was trapped inside of the SUV. Firefighters had to cut into the SUV using heavy equipment in order to pull her out.
The victim was transported to Prince George's County Hospital with serious injuries, but she is expected to survive. Currently, investigators are trying to determine whether or not a warning system failure caused the train accident .
