Ira Sherman addressed a group of social service workers working within the immigrant communities of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas regarding the rights of immigrants to pursue justice if they are injured through the carelessness of others. Frequently, individuals who have recently come to America or are recent citizens of the United States of America do not feel comfortable pursuing justice for injuries sustained as a result of the negligence of others. Mr. Sherman explained that the cost of an attorney is guaranteed to be zero unless the law firm is successful in pursuing their claim. A client only pays a portion of the amount recovered and if there is no recovery, there is no fee. Moreover, Mr. Sherman explained that the initial consultation is free.
